What’s their recipe for success?

Some say that one’s name plays an important role in defining one’s destiny, so it’s safe to say that whoever named Revolut sure was a visionary.

Founded in 2015, it hasn’t taken very long to Revolut(ionise) the fintech space. Standing out as one of the leading “Challenger Banks” in the world, after being an e-money prepaid debit card fintech in the UK, and recently receiving their EU banking license, Revolut is not just an efficient product; it’s a super cool brand that people love. They have the right recipe, and there’s no stopping them now.

Here are 7 reasons why we love Revolut:

Their Brand:

What makes it so cool? They have an outstanding presence, which is achieved through a consistently great look and feel across their website, aspirational social media pages, informative blog posts and great campaigns encouraging people to share snapshots of their Revolut cards while travelling ––not to mention their quippy ads which are on-point.

Intuitive Experience:

Being a part of the Revolut brand is an experience in itself. But they wouldn’t be where they are without a simple onboarding process, free standard account offering, and a seamless app with 24/7 support. They make it easy, appealing to real people living in the 21st Century.

Value Proposition:

They really really get their customers. Having a cool brand and a well-designed product means nada if there’s no real need (or want) for your product. A digital bank without all of the charges, enabling you to travel, manage and send money abroad, with trusted security is something that’s sorely in demand, with many companies following suit.

“Free international money transfers, fee-free global spending, always at the interbank exchange rate. Business or Consumer, Revolut is the only banking alternative designed for your global lifestyle.”

Nuff said.

They help you to Save:

Revolut has a feature called ‘Vaults’ which acts as a savings pocket, allowing users to have every payment amount rounded up and the spare change placed into a savings account of sorts, allowing you to accumulate savings effortlessly. You also have the option to create a Group Vault to invite friends and family members to join you in saving towards a shared financial goal.

They care about charity:

With a brand new feature, Donations, Revolut has applied the same principle as with Vaults to donating, making it simple to give small amounts of money to charities, without taking a cut for themselves. The company will also offer users the option to make one-off donations or set up recurring payments to charities of their choice. There’s no minimum donation amount, and donations can be turned on and off at any time.

They’re so extra:

They set themselves further apart by going over and above with features like Travel Insurance at only £1 per day, their recent Apple Pay integration, magical metallic premium cards and in-app GIFs!

Innovative Vision:

Paving the way for the future of banking, Revolut continues to search for new ideas and ways to improve the experience of banking in this progressive hyper-connected world by offering Crypto exchange, giving their customers more control and constantly pushing into new exciting spaces, as they continue to expand their offering swiftly into new markets in different countries.

There’s a lot that startups can learn from their approach, and we do well to pay attention. Often, innovation starts with identifying a pain-point in the system, understanding the big-picture significance, and executing a brilliant strategy to make the change you believe in. If your ingredients are right, the cake will rise, and who doesn’t love cake!
