Helping our newly laid off peers connect with companies faster
Job seekers & companies interested in getting access to the Byteboard Talent Directory can sign up here.
Two years ago, we started Byteboard with the simple premise that interviews should reflect what engineers do on-the-job. Candidates should not have to spend months building up “interviewing skills” like we did when applying for software engineering roles. And now more than ever, a record number of our highly skilled peers are looking for a new job while at home, where they lack the mental or physical space to prepare for the unexpected task of job interviews. Moreover we are hearing from Byteboard clients who are still hiring that their volume of applicants has increased 2–3x in the last few weeks. This has made it harder for their recruiting and engineering teams to evaluate candidates in a timely manner without fatiguing interviewers or compromising candidate experience.
We find that Byteboard is in a unique position to help both our peers looking for jobs and our clients that are looking to hire great talent quickly. Our identity blind, project-based interview allows companies to fairly and efficiently evaluate candidates for the skills that matter.
This is why we are launching our Byteboard Talent Directory — a space for candidates looking for a technical job to take the Byteboard interview and skip first-round interviews and for companies to get access to pre-evaluated candidates that best match their open roles.
Candidates will be able to provide information beyond their resume, like what they value in their next role and what culture they care for in their engineering teams.
Job seekers can sign up here. You’ll also get access to our exclusive launch event — a Virtual Career Week starting on June 9th, where you’ll get to meet with hiring managers from companies like Hulu, Ethos, Figma, Robinhood, Ezoic, Clockwise, and more to learn about their open roles, company culture, and any other questions you may have.
Companies interested in participating can contact us at info@byteboard.dev and learn more at byteboard.dev/directory. Additionally, we’re offering unlimited, free access to Byteboard’s full interview services until June 30th for companies to evaluate any candidates that are applying directly.
We know it’s a hard time for many of us. We hope to create a space to help those impacted transition to a new role.
Stay safe,
Sargun & Nikke
