The Dangers of Commercial Driving and Our Way Forward
25th June 2017, A Shell Oil Tanker met a fatal accident near Ahmedpur East, killing 219 people and incurring fines worth $2.3 Million. This is one of many such accidents that take place each day around the globe.
The road transportation industry annually loses 120 Billion dollars and another 1.35 Million human lives just due to road accidents.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) found that somewhere between 94% and 96% of all motor vehicle accidents are caused by some type of human error. In another report by WHO, nearly 100% of road accidents are preventable and occur due to human errors and the key reasons behind these accidents are distracted and risky driving, unauthorized drivers, and malfunctioning vehicles.
Human negligence is never-ending and can occur both intentionally and unintentionally. We, as tech founders, wanted to enable the use of tech for preventable measures of such incidents, and by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), we did exactly that — developed Autilent.
Autilent is a smart system that uses AI and Computer Vision to help predict high-risk situations both inside and outside of the vehicle such as mobile usage, tailgating, sharp turns, and much more, to alert the relevant stakeholders in real-time.
Autilent has the following capabilities:
- Live View
- Live Vehicle Tracking
- Driver Authorization
- Real-Time Alerts
- Behavior Monitoring
- Drowsiness Detection
- Violation Detection
- Distraction Detection
- Data-driven Reports
Over the last 6 months, our team has significantly progressed towards achieving our goals. Over the next year, we are targeting significant milestones, with the best yet to come. This is the start of a beautiful and meaningful journey. With our mission of leveraging AI to provide road safety crystal clear, we are determined to take Autilent to the next level.
The future, however, holds even greater value in the perspective of Autilent. With the advent of smart and electronic vehicles, the automobile industry is becoming more and more reliant on data. As we grow, Autilent will continue to facilitate the industry with relevant insights, data, and findings in order to build a more sustainable and safer world
