I’m super excited to announce our full speaker lineup for Byteconf React 2018. We had almost 80 talk submissions from speakers all over the world, in topics as diverse as augmented reality, functional programming, and even making kombucha with React (!).

The CFP submissions were reviewed by a group of Byteconf community members (shout-out at the end of this post to them!), and then went through a second review process by the Byteconf team. After this process, we’re super happy to share our eight speakers for Byteconf React 2018.

Meet our speakers for Byteconf React 2018!

  • Tracy Lee | ladyleet of @nodejs Foundation and @thisdotlabs will be teaching us about reactive programming and #rxjs with her talk Reactive Programming: The Solution to JavaScript Fatigue.
  • Kyle Shevlin (@FormidableLabs senior software engineer, @eggheadio instructor) will be filling us in on computer science fundamentals with his talk Learning Backwards: Learning CS Through the Lens of React.
  • Alexander Kallaway (creator of #100DaysOfCode) will teach us about forming habits and conquering our education doubts with his talk “Applying the science of habit formation to improve coding skills”.
  • Jeremias Menichelli (frontend engineer at @typeform) will give us a practical retrospective on using animation in production React apps with his talk Insights from building rich animated experiences in React.
  • Robert DeLuca of @thefrontside will show us a new way to write UI tests with his talk Testing Big with BigTest in React.
  • Tim Roberts (staff engineer at @circleci) will break down functional programming in React and JavaScript with his talk Dr. Strangelove: or how I stopped worrying and learned to love higher order functions.
  • Vladimir Novick will give us a taste of cutting-edge React tech with his talk Building AR Apps with React Native.
  • Kent C. Dodds will teach us how to level up our JavaScript/React skills with his talk Confident React.
