BZEdge status update July 3, 2019
It’s the moment to reveal what we’ve been up to lately.
There’s not so much to see but there’s a lot we have learned.
In the past few days, we’ve noticed a lot of questions about what is happening and a lot of enthusiasm for TRADEBIN. While we share the same enthusiasm — even though they are a bit later than we expected — we think that we have delayed our projects enough. The main reason we did this is because we were focusing all of our attention on the third parties instead of our own yard — but as we said before: we live, we learn.
So we discovered that we should focus 90% on us, on BZE, instead of delivering to others. This being said we have reviewed our development pipeline and we can say we have some targets we want to shoot for in the 2nd half of 2019.
The initial idea with BZShares could pave the way for BZE to become a security instead of a minable community coin — this is why we haven’t launched it yet and we’ve delayed it on purpose. We need another few platforms to make something usable out of BZShares.
In the past weeks we had our focus on TRADEBIN, BZWallet — Zepio fork — and an upgrade in our daemon. Let’s break down each of the terms mentioned above.
TRADEBIN status
The guys at TRADEBIN are passing through some troubles regarding their team and company paperwork. Even though their platform is not live yet, this is what happens when you try to launch and respect the entire process and flows other well-known exchanges have developed with years of experience. This is why we managed to convince them to take smaller steps and launch the beta platform sooner. The production environment is being built, reviewed and secured at the moment of writing this article. It’s just a matter of days until we have the BETA platform open to our community. BZE/BTC will be there and shortly after we will see ZERC and ZEL too.
New desktop wallet
BZWallet ZEC foundation released a beautiful Z-first desktop wallet and we decided to work on bringing this tech to BZE too. Their main focus was to develop an easy-to-use wallet focused on Z addresses — private addresses — and a reliable full node tool. They did it beautifully but some modifications had to be made to adapt it to BZE. We have one final feature to implement, retest it and it will be ready to be tested by our entire community.
Daemon upgrade
In order to ensure a flawless user experience in BZWallet, we had to develop a new RPC call inside our daemon. There are some certain use cases that weren’t covered for T addresses — transparent addresses — and we decided to treat them at daemon level. This new endpoint will be helpful in other situations as well.
What about other plans?
Well, we will have to revamp the roadmap because some tools are obsolete.
Masternodes are a TOP PRIORITY and they will come before any other thing we want to develop. The second place is marked by an idea for a mobile wallet and the third one by a business we want to build in order to fund BZEdge. But enough about future plans!
We plan on talking about certain concrete things: Masternodes and TRADEBIN are the only concrete things at the moment. We want to be better!
In recent days, we’ve had the feeling that we lack communication — and this fear was confirmed by some BZE community members in Discord. This is why we decided NOT to talk about future plans on any official channel like Medium, Twitter or BitcoinTalk — of course, if you come to a free talk on Discord and Telegram we can debate ideas and talk about our future. We will not reject nor ignore people’s questions or concerns. The whole idea is that the world changes and has new needs as time passes — there’s no need to announce new tools that will be ready in one year… because after such a long period of time that idea might become useless.
No proof of concept — no pre-announcement unless we’ve already tested it and it’s ready to go live.
