Can we get three cheers for three years?
Earlier this month, C2 celebrated being named one of West Michigan’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. The award is based on an audit of employee programs, offerings, and feedback. It’s the third straight year C2 has been recognized for its approach to human resource management.
But where does C2 rank among the best of the best? Among winners, C2 outscored others across West Michigan in the following categories:
Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Solutions
The competitiveness of compensation and benefits relative to comparable organizations, as well as the ability to provide unique, creative, and customized solutions to employees.
Last year, C2 acted on employee feedback to improve its medical offering to further cut family out-of-pocket expenses. This joins a healthy balance of paid time off, quarterly profit sharing, employee match on 401k contributions, and employer-paid premiums on life insurance and short- and long-term disability.
Employee Enrichment,Engagement, and Retention
Extent to which employees are meaningfully and personally connected to their work and their company that drives retention. As well as the extent to which a company understands and adapts to the individual needs of its employees by looking at the employee as a whole, not just the work environment.
C2 saw near-100% employee retention in 2018 while expanding its team. The average C2 employee has worked here for more than 4.5 years. The national average for employees aged 25–34 is 3.2 years. Oh, and we’re still on the lookout for great talent to come and join our team.
Work-Life Balance
Extent to which the organization and its management recognize the need for personal balance as an employee by implementing programs to accommodate such needs.
C2 offers remote or flexible scheduling, paid parental leave for moms and dads, and a high degree of empathy for employees and young families. We have a high amount of trust on our team. We provide freedom to focus on what’s important when a repair needs to be made at home, a sick kid needs to go to the doctor, or anything that life may throw your way.
