Exposing attendees to new ideas and technologies is at the forefront of the planning and organizing for C3 Crypto Conference. To do so we wanted to have panels that probably would not be seen at the typical crypto conference. Aside from Fintech and Regulation, some topics we really wanted to highlight include Social Impact Using Technology, Empowering Minority Communities Through Blockchain Technology and Art x Music x Blockchain.

Applications for technologies are not limited to the tech space. Through education and adoption technology can actually transcend and ultimately effects change. It is important to the C3 Crypto Conference Team to share the varied areas of expertise from our selection of speakers.

1. Social Impact Using Technology

This panel illuminates the ways in which technology can be employed for driving social impact. In recent years, it has become apparent that ‘platform technology’ such as social media is a new and often essential tool for social change. That being said, can technologies like blockchain or AI achieve the same impact? Scheduled panelists are Tegan Kline and Tavonia Evans.

Kline is a decentralized futurist, community builder, and knowledge seeker. She has a passion for digital rights and is the International Business Development Manager at Orchid. She shares Orchid’s commitment to end digital surveillance and censorship on the internet.

Evans is the creator and developer of Guapcoin. Guapcoin is a token that supports Black-owned Businesses, HBCUs, and Philanthropic organizations.

2. Art x Music x Blockchain

Blockchain technology can still be considered in its infant stages. Due to that there are still many applications and use cases yet to be explored. Although, blockchain may not seem to have much in common with art or music projects. However, there are already in place projects that use blockchain for applications like storage, contracts, payments and copyrights within the music and arts sectors. One of the panel speakers, Rufus Lane founded YAIR, to explore the intersection of blockchain and art. YAIR (Your Art Is Reality) is a Berlin based startup developing blockchain solutions for digital art.

3. Empowering Minority Communities Through Technology

Representation

When looking across almost all sectors there is a tendency to have a lack of representation for many minority communities. Can technology be a tool to change this? In what ways can technology be used to empower minority communities? Panelists Tegan Kline and Daniel Taylor together will discuss how their work empowers minority communities.

Daniel Taylor is the CEO of BlocSide Sports. BlocSide Sports has created the PABA, a next generation 3D Digital Avatar, bringing your favorite athletes and entertainers to life.
