I believe everyone has an experience of sharing a meal with others. Although people are all in different countries with different cultures, they will all share a meal with others. Why is this phenomenon so common in this society? Previously, in traditional Chinese culture, the Chinese think the behavior of sharing a meal is a sense of respect, especially when you are having a meal with someone elder than you. Moreover, children shouldn’t do anything when people who are older than you haven’t started to eat. The only thing that you can do is to prepare tablewares for them. After that, you just sit at the dining table and wait until they come. However, this table manner is not that common in Taiwan from my experience.

In my opinion, for people who are gregarious animals, we prefer having a meal together to eating alone. During mealtime, we can share interesting things and make new wonderful memories with others which all human beings enjoy it.
