Why do you think sharing a meal with others is something that all cultures do?

In my opinion, sharing a meal is a great way to build up a sense of intimacy. Firstly, food is a good connection or media to start a conversation. When a group of strangers sits around a table, they can start chatting by introducing their meals or sharing their feedback about the same meal. Secondly, while people are eating together, the atmosphere is normally less informal, but softer and warmer. In this condition, people are more willing to have talks about what’s happened to them in recent and much easier to get along with others. Last but not least, people tend to associate in social groups and form cooperative societies. By sharing a meal and chatting on the same table, all participants will build a cliquey team and improve their cohesion and centripetal force. Therefore, I think sharing a meal with others is a kind of human natures so all cultures do this.
