A New Tradition in My Family

During Lunar New Year in Taiwan, families get together to have a dinner in the last day of the lunar calendar. I usually have to have a dinner with relatives from all the island. Sometimes, it could be a little bit awkward to have dinner with some relatives you are not familiar with even though you share the same DNA from a pair of grandparents.

If I have a chance to create a new tradition in my family, it will be a karaoke party. Due to the national character of Taiwan, people tend to be quiet during the dinner with families because Taiwanese people have to respect their elders, and it would limit the possibility of their talks. With alcohol and music, people could relax themselves easily, and relatives will open their mind and have a good conversation.
