Does your family have any unique traditions?

My family has two different traditional rules, when the first one doesn’t work, follow the second one. These rules are from my mother. In my family has three children, a sister, a brother and me, when we were children, my mother set up these rules, she told us that we should go back home every Chinese New Year until we get married. If we plan to go abroad, then we will have vacation from Chinese New Year’s Eve to the fifth day of lunar calendar. If we don’t go abroad to take vacation, we will go back to my father’s hometown Miaoli on second day of lunar calendar. My uncle will book a restaurant about 10 tables, and we eat together so that we can meet our relatives in the same time. After we finish the meal, we will go to my aunt’s house, we chat together and also eat dinner in her home. These rules started when I was a child, till now is over 20 years, most of my cousins have children now, they also follow our “Liu family’s rule”.
