Sharing a meal with others is a common culture around the world?

You may think the people sharing a meal that is embarrassing behaviors. The first image pops up on your mind, which is a family sharing a meal on their table.

That would be a normal thing, and we could see as usual. So, how do you think of sharing meals that are human nature behavior or a traditional culture?

In my opinion sharing a meal that was a human nature behavior, because human is a group living ambitious since Paleolithic age. They had hunted animals and sharing with other people for a celebration then. Some ethnicities do share meals when they do their religious ceremonies. Those usually happen in some Asian countries.

For example, in China, people believe when we are sharing a meal, we call “圓滿” in Chinese. The meaning is that all the family members are staying together, and everything had been completed successfully.
