Why do you think it’s important to learn about other cultures?
It’s not rare for people to tend to think about things with their own native culture. Actually, it’s the most efficient way for people to think. As a result, some misunderstandings and something bad may happen.
For example, Tattoo has different meaning in cultures. Samoan Islands, an archipelago covering in the central South Pacific, is the place where the word ‘tattoo’ comes from. Grown men are required to be tattooed to show their braveness; On the other hand, tattoo is tags on prisoners in several cultures. It would be a disaster if we take a wrong reaction to another example of culture.
Cultures could be macro and micro, people live in different towns may have different cultures. So it’s the reason why I think it’s important to learn about different cultures.
