We’ve got some big news.

Today, we officially launched C13Originals, a division of Cadence13, to develop a slate of innovative, industry-leading original programming.

In less than four years, we’ve built a network of top-notch programming with the leading creators in the business. We’ve learned what resonates with listening audiences.

The accomplished C13Originals team is led by Chris Corcoran, Chief Content Officer at Cadence13, with production and storytelling led by two-time Emmy award-winner, Zak Levitt, Executive Vice President of Production. Levitt recently wrote, directed and produced the critically acclaimed, eight-part documentary podcast series Root of Evil: The True Story of the Hodel Family and the Black Dahlia from Cadence13 and TNT. Root of Evil has been at the top of the Apple Podcast charts since launch in February 2019, becoming the #1 podcast series overall. Levitt’s prior filmography includes critically-acclaimed documentaries Bad Boys, Once Brothers, The Dream Team and The Doctor, which won the 2014 Emmy for Most Outstanding Documentary.

C13Originals kicks off with Gangster Capitalism, a seasonal docu-series that takes an in-depth look at white collar corruption and scandal, starting with the 2019 college admissions scandal, exposing the ways that wealthy members of society abuse their power, money and influence in order to get what they want, regardless of who or what stands in their way. Award-winning documentarian Andrew Jenks, host and writer of the series What Really Happened?, will host Season One of Gangster Capitalism, an exploration into the college admissions scandal — dubbed “Operation Varsity Blues” by the FBI — that has exposed everyone from Hollywood celebrities to CEOs in an audacious bribery scheme.
