Broken

how easy it is
to live in denial
how simple is life
when we forget
and smile.

how beautiful would it be
if what we told ourselves was true
but the skies are tired
they want us to move on
and swallow the painful truth.

the hardest thing is to say goodbye
to a soul that has buried itself in mine.

my broken spirit will recover
my heart will heal and mend
but first,
my love, my sweet love
I must accept our end.
