Getting Started: Your ID Check Dashboard

So, you’ve done a little digging and have decided that increasing the trust between you and your customers can open up new opportunities for you. That’s great, but where do you start? What’s the simplest way to get to know your customers a little better?

Hands down, the best way to know your customers better starts with a simple ID Check. It affords you a solid, known, and reliable identity to base your relationship on. And luckily, the team here at Caisson has made the whole process as simple as humanly possible.

We believe there are tons of companies out there that can benefit from a bit of added trust online, and we’ve built the ID Check process with all sizes of businesses in mind. Your business doesn’t even need a website in order to get started checking ID’s. And, as your needs grow, we offer multiple levels of API integrations to match your needs and automate away as much of the process as is right for you.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though. When you’re just getting started, we highly recommend running a few manual checks first to get a feel for the process. If you haven’t registered for an account yet, no problem. You can try out the ID Check process on yourself before you even finish registering.

To get going, head straight over to the ID Check Dashboard. You’ll need to provide your email address (we won’t spam you, promise!), and then you’re off to the races.

To start, your dashboard is understandably empty. Send your first ID Check to yourself so you can get a feel for what your customer’s experience will be like. Click on the blue plus button to start a new ID Check, give this check a description, and put in your phone number. We’ll text you a link that you’ll open in your phone’s browser.

Once you click the link on your phone, you’ll begin the ID Check process! The hardest part here will be digging your ID out.

That’s it! In three easy steps, you’ll learn as much about your customer as you would from meeting them in person. Head back to your dashboard and you’ll notice the we’ve automagically updated the state of your most recent check, letting you know it’s done.

From here, you’ll be able to view the details of the ID Check (after confirming your phone number if you haven’t finished registering). You’ll be able to see the license and the selfie that we processed and compared, along with all of the data extracted from the license. On our end, we’re running numerous checks against the data on the license, and you’ll see our confidence scores for both the extracted data, and the facial comparison of the person presenting the license to the person on the license.

That’s it! Your dashboard is a great way to run a small number of manual checks, and can help you get up and going before your engineers take over to automate the whole process.

One last thing — before you send ID Checks to your customers, you’ll want to head over to your settings page and set your co-branding up so they know who the checks are coming from. We’ll review your customization options in detail in a future article, but it should be pretty straightforward to work through on your own.
