CakeResume Feb Monthly Update

Hello, community! 😃

It’s great to meet all of you — designers, engineers, marketers, product managers, and everyone who loves using CakeResume to build profile. I’m Weicheng, I joined the CakeResume team this year. My primary responsibility is to enable the healthy growth of our global community.

I’ll be working hard to ensure that we’re doing everything possible to support the understanding of the development on CakeResume, as well as the growing tech companies on our platform. So, I decided to post regular updates on a monthly basis.

As this is the first post of this series, let me briefly introduce the progress of the development on the CakeResume profile and editor.

What can CakeResume do for you ✍️

CakeResume Online Editor

CakeResume has become an online rich media profile with super intuitive drag-and-drop editor. You can choose to publish your profile either in public or in private.

A public profile is searchable by everyone which helps improve your personal brand; A private profile is not able to be indexed by Google and cannot be found on the internet unless you share the specific URL linked to your private profile to others.

If you prefer to share PDF file, you can also find a button at the top-left corner of your CakeResume profile to save as a PDF file.

What we’ve achieved in Feb 2019

1. Vibrant jobs are growing 🚀

Some of the world’s most innovative companies joined CakeResume to recruit talent in Taiwan.

This month ByteDance, Ogilvy, TomTom, and Verizon Media(Yahoo) joined CakeResume to post job openings including but not limited to software engineering, marketing, sales, and administration. While the companies above only joined CakeResume last two weeks after the Chinese New Year, we can expect more job opportunities to come.

2. AI-powered CakeResume is brewing 🤖

Our mission is to help everyone get a job they love. We believe a job matching platform powered by AI can truly help everyone get hired faster than ever.

This month a NLP Data Scientist joined the CakeResume core team to build an AI-powered job matching engine together, which will help talent with CakeResume profile be exposed to top tier companies a lot more than before.

3. Helped talented candidate get a CTO job 🤝

This month we are thrilled to announce that we helped a talented candidate get a CTO job. Hooray!

Many talented candidates entrust their job hunting to CakeResume for their career, especially in tech industry. We’ve collaborated with different talent in design, engineering, management, and marketing for job matching. And we’ve successfully helped some of them get a job they love, from entry level to C-level.

What to expect in 2019

1. More engagement in online communication 🌏

We wanted to say thank you for supporting us all the way since the day CakeResume was founded in May 2016. Now, CakeResume has grown to become a team of 10.

This year we received love from French & Spanish community. And we decided to work on more engagement in global communication.

Our product development team led by our founder Trantor, is working hard to ensure that we’re doing everything possible to provide the best experience for our community. If you have any thoughts on how we can best accomplish this, feel free to reach out.

2. Overseas expansion to 🇮🇳 🇸🇬 🇲🇾

Taiwan is becoming a top destination for cutting-edge tech in Asia. According to Forbes Google, IBM & Microsoft were all expanding in Taiwan last year, which indicates how quality Taiwan tech talent are.

This year we will be more focus on developing our tech job matching service not only inside but also outside of Taiwan, and aim to expand into India market & Chinese markets in SEA.

3. More exciting job opportunities to come 🚀

In 2018, we hosted 3 successful recruitment events for tech companies including Cobinhood, Gamania, PicCollage and more in Taiwan. This year there will be more in-person meetups and events.

Also, we are hustling to bring in more top tier companies on CakeResume including but not limited to digital agency and media, SaaS, semiconductor and telecommunications.
