Is a Tripod Webcam Mount Right for Your Setup?
Give Up Space for Extra Sturdiness.
If you have tried a bunch of webcams in your life, you have probably noticed how the default mounting option tends to suck. If you want to save yourself the annoyance of a wobbly webcam barely hanging on top of your screen — look into dedicated webcam mounts.
There are three main categories of webcam mounts:
- Gooseneck Webcam Mounts
- Webcam Tripods
- Clip-on Webcam Mounts
Here’s a review of one of the most popular tripod webcam mounts. As a note, I don’t get any kick-backs from this!

This one is one of the smallest desk webcam tripods I’ve tested.
Base: the base is solid with a relatively small footprint (for a tripod).
Adjustability: the tripod is telescopic and extends quite a bit, main issue here is the minimum height setting; way too high for my own setup since the webcam ends up sitting above my monitor bezel.
Webcam attachment: simple and effective ball joint mechanism with a 1/4'’ screw. Plenty of movement and adjustability.
