Trying to find fun and safe outings during this time is a difficult task, but luckily the Los Angeles Zoo is a great option for families to explore the outdoors safely. I visited the zoo last week and wanted to share my experience for others to gauge how comfortable they feel in making the trip out.

Entry to the Los Angeles Zoo is through a timed ticket. You choose your time through the website and make your purchase online. I had to plan for my trip almost a month out because all the good available timeslots in the morning were sold out on the weekends. You will receive a PDF with your tickets/barcode and I was able to show my phone at the gate for entry.

There is plenty of signage, like the one above, promoting social distancing — using different animals as the gauge for six feet. It’s fun, although I wouldn’t generally know how long these animals are, so I’m not sure I’m actually a snow leopard apart from everyone — maybe more of an elephant length. But I did find it cute that depending on the animal in the sign, the outstretched hand of the person looks like it is touching the animal and I overhead…
