Only in its third year, Call for Code has challenge participants spanning the globe, with over 400,000 problems solvers from 179 nations having answered the call so far. Every year, the judging panel continues to be amazed as they evaluate the breakthrough innovations that are built to tackle the some of the most pressing issues our world is facing.

Call for Code epitomizes the essence of teamwork. We’ve seen teams like Prometeo, comprised of both technical and non-technical counterparts blend their valuable expertise to save firefighters, in addition to many other teams following suit. Together with experts from different fields all holding diverse experiences and uniting to achieve a common mission, the best work is put forward through Call for Code — bringing positive impacts to communities in need.

This year, with both COVID-19 and climate change being the focus, participants were tasked with leveraging various open source technologies to build solutions that address topics such as including crisis communication, remote education, and community cooperation for the COVID-19 track; and water sustainability, energy sustainability, and disaster resiliency for the climate change track. Through months of hard work with teams from around the world collaborating and creating solutions with true promise, the 2020 Call for Code Global Challenge Regional Finalists were announced today.

Be sure to join the 2020 Call for Code Awards Celebration on October 13 to find out the winner!
