Introducing Video (in Beta)

More than a hundred thousand people have used Callin to stream, record, edit, and listen to audio together. Today, we’re excited to announce our next major release: Video! Now, users can seamlessly stream video inside their rooms, use our editing toolkit to fine-tune their recordings, and publish them as video podcasts. Favorite moments can also be easily clipped and exported to social platforms.
Interacting with your audience should not be a choice between multiple platforms and tools. With the ability to stream and record both video and audio, Callin offers a complete creator studio that combines the power of the best podcasting tools with social features and audience participation.
Starting today, we’re rolling out the Video Beta to all users on iOS, Android, and Web. Learn more below:
Lights, Camera, Action! Streaming video is as easy as starting a room on Callin. Simply navigate to Room Creation on iOS, Android, or Web and toggle Video on. While in the room, a host can also toggle their camera off whenever needed. Other users, such as co-hosts, guests, and audience members automatically gain the ability to turn on their video when they join the stage. Currently, we support up to 9 people broadcasting video simultaneously. Of course, speakers can always opt to remain audio-only if they wish.
Powerful Publishing After the live room, our suite of editing tools allows you to edit and preview your video episode before it’s published. The transcript editing works the same as before: easily remove sentences and adjust start and stop times. No edits needed? It’s just two clicks to publish. You can even remove video from your episode entirely if you wish to keep things audio-only.
Video Episodes You don’t need to create a new show to start publishing; your show can contain both audio and video episodes. We’ve even kept the live interaction playback for videos. That way, you can relive the full live experience: live chat, audience participation, emotes and more.
Clips Have a favorite moment? Users can now export clips from a video episode by pressing the scissor icon and selecting up to 2 minutes of content. Clips are downloadable as mp4 files on your device, so you can share them anywhere!
