Joining forces: when businesses collaborate, great things happen

Entrepreneur, digital pioneer, decision maker, tech innovator, business owner — whatever your preferred title — ask yourself this…

  • Who inspires you?
  • Where do your greatest ideas come from?
  • What motivates you?

Chances are, in a professional context, the answers to these questions lie with like-minded individuals and companies who you respect and trust. When such people come together, remarkable things happen — an environment of co-creation and the sharing of ideas is formed. This is why the power of collaboration among businesses should never be underestimated.

Learn from the best

Established enterprises, start-ups and scale-ups all work to their own objectives but one thing they all share is a goal to succeed. Granted, success means different things to different people — money, acceptance, a better work-life balance — but it’s certainly easier to achieve when you’re supported by a collaborative network of business professionals.

Regardless of how long your company has existed (or, it might not exist at all — it might just be an idea at this stage), learning from others who either work in your industry, complement your offering or allow you to work more effectively, is crucial to your success.

Maybe you’re a reputable and well-known organisation inspired by the blue-sky thinking of a start-up. Maybe you’re a small company looking to team up with an experienced business who shares your values. Whatever your aim, by collaborating and joining forces, you’re inspiring much-needed co-creation and innovation among businesses.

Leeds, unite

Leeds is a great example of a city where businesses are uniting and innovating. We, as a city, understand the importance of working alongside each other to achieve something great and most importantly, we do it well.

With a mountain of networking and industry events scheduled throughout the year, including Leeds Digital Festival (where more tech events were held in Leeds than San Francisco during the festival!), organisations are also taking it upon themselves to collaborate independently.

In fact, Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership announced that £1 million of funding has been launched to encourage digital businesses to relocate to Leeds City Region. This can only be a positive thing, as the digital tech hub, we fondly know as ‘Leeds’, as well as the surrounding town and cities, continue to thrive.

The amount of knowledge and ideas we possess in this city is mind-blowing and we shouldn’t be afraid to share it. Strength in numbers and ongoing innovation will ensure Leeds is recognised as not only the digital capital of the North but possibly the country and Europe too! Dream big, fellow innovators.
