Concerns about the coronavirus continue to grow, and our thoughts are with the families of those lost, everyone affected, and those communities facing economic loss due to event cancellations. Many state, provincial, and local governments are scrambling to meet new requirements to protect their communities as the situation develops.

As the progress of this virus is tracked, many governments will be tasked with managing information and processes ranging from:

  • Communicating with and updating citizens and community members about health precautions and resources available,
  • Tracking quarantine locations and timelines,
  • Assessing medical facility capacities for those infected,
  • Investigating health hazards (such as exposure to infected persons in public), and,
  • Registration and licensing of first responders and medical professionals.

If infection rates increase, there’s a reasonable chance that governments will be tasked with additional workflows including processes that allow for government employees to work remotely, keeping track of school closures and home-schooling plans, and, eventually, vaccination programs.

We are currently contacting our customers to find out if they, or their public health colleagues, have been tasked with additional responsibilities in responding to the coronavirus, and discuss how we can help them use our Amanda platform to manage those responsibilities.

Our technology can help governments manage these sorts of tasks on behalf of their communities, helping them collect data and access it for multiple purposes, easily produce reports, interact with other systems and quickly share information with citizens.

If your government needs advice or help on using technology to respond to this important issue, we are happy to see if we can help you. You can get in touch with us through this link. The more empowered government professionals are to respond to and meet this health challenge, the faster we can all get back to building safe and prosperous communities.
