Bad Canteen is a new (and heavily underrated) Youtube series that documents the culinary journey of 6 friends from England as they learn to cook while opening a restaurant together

Here at Cameliocase we live for finding hidden gems before they reach the masses. Whether its recognizing the next up and coming fashion trends or finding the most underrated, hole-in-the-wall spot for lunch we can’t get enough of the hunt.

Our series called “The underground” is where we will be documenting all things (that we think) are hype yet still so underrated.

For this week we have found the absolute best Youtube series for your Friday night binge, that is just simply not getting the recognition that it truly deserves. Introducing: Bad Canteen. A Youtube channel that documents 6 “best mates” who don’t know how to cook and are trying to open a restaurant together.

The show features DamnShaq, a 20-year-old DJ who put the concept of a ‘cooking show led by people who cannot cook’ forward, Scott Cruft, a 20-year-old stylist, artist Tia O’Donnell, also 20, 18-year-old videographer Caleb Kumiko and models Hélène Selam Kleih, 21, and Jordan Charles, 24

When they say “don’t know how to cook” they are being truly honest. Scott Cruft genuinely ate rice and pasta for the very first time in his life last year (2017).

The show might seem like a simple concept with a recipe for #realitytv, oh but it is so much more. These 6 friends hail from the UK and are decked out in top streetwear fits from head to toe 24/7 whether they’re washing dishes or traveling for a culinary experience. When their clothes are not luring you in, their endearing friendship, pranks and good ol’ British slang encourage you to keep the binge watching train going full steam ahead.

Their respective personalities are all so unique yet their camaraderie and undeniable support of one another always shines through. It is definitely the most millennially driven show that we have seen, despite that we believe it truly has staying power. Their “fresh” approach merges social media with a documentary-style reality tv show as they include their audience’s input while learning how to cook and set up their own potential restaurant. We honestly can’t wait to see where their culinary adventures take them, we just hope they don’t go anywhere after the restaurant is open because we love them all!

Watch the first episode below and subscribe to their Youtube Channel to see fresh episodes as they drop each week. Happy binge watching!
