Goood Morning Blue Wales and White Switzerland! And Good Morning to our Green and Red teams and Welcome to Olympics Day One!!

This morning’s breakfast was the first official silent team meal, with the judges present with their score cards in hand, ready to deduct points at the smallest squeak! Every ounce of spirit must be saved for the games, so meal times are an opportunity to relax and conserve energy.

We then had our first morning flagpole of Olympics, featuring psych speeches from both the Blue and White teams, as well as another incredible performance of The Star-Spangled Banner, by Winnie from the Ranger division!

Then it was on to the first activity period of the morning. The varsity girls began with the regatta this morning. The regatta begins with the Stand-up paddle-boards going from the boating dock to the fishing dock. Once the team reaches the fishing dock, the Canoes can begin, going from the fishing dock to the bay, where the kayaks can begin on their way to the boating dock. The time ends when they Kayaks get back to the bay. And the winner will be the team with the quickest time.

The Regatta was so much fun and certainly set a competitive tone for the day for the varsity girls!

We also had swim races, tennis competitions and pickle-ball competitions this morning, all this before lunch, our campers were really putting their all into the Olympic games!

In the afternoon, the Olympic games continued with basketball and flag football tournaments, as well as soccer and the Biathlon for the Graduates, to run a one-mile race all around camp, followed by a swim in the lake from the waterski dock to the boating dock, and back!

Some very impressive times were recorded, well done everyone!

Another silent dinner was on the cards for the Blue and White teams, before evening flagpole and evening activity. At flagpole, the team scores were announced, and with only a 24-point difference, the Blue team is in the lead after Day 1!

But don’t stress white team; it is still all to play for!

Tonight was staff games for the girls, which included a beach volleyball game, a soccer game and a basketball game.

For the boys, they had a tug-of-war competition to finish off the night! The noise coming from the tennis centre was incredible, as the boys were putting their all into tugging that rope!

There was so much spirit in the air last night, and our campers loved having the opportunity to watch their counselors get in on the action!

And that was Olympics day 1!

Remember, anything can change at any moment; so make sure to stay tuned for updates!
