After several days of preparation, our CITs turned up completely covered in tutus, beads, face paint, and rhinestones ready to give our campers an awesome Carnival Day!
Outside the Garden was a feast of buttery popcorn, icy cold snow cones, and sugary cotton candy. Everyone stuffed their faces with these delicious treats. Freshly spun cotton candy was a clear favorite and certainly camper approved; no one could get enough!
Inside the Garden were all the IHC carnival classics! There were tattoos, trivia, ‘Guess that Tune,’ and tons of other tricky games. Some of these games included ring toss, corn hole, tic tac toe, and the ‘Oreo Challenge’ (each player has only one minute to get an Oreo from their forehead to their mouth). These games may seem simple but anyone who has been to IHC knows they require you to be hyper focused and use every ounce of precision. Tickets were earned and exchanged for awesome prizes. Ten tickets gave you a chance to spin the mystery wheel!
Our CITs also hosted the famous IHC Carnival marriage booth. Rings and vows were exchanged throughout the afternoon (These marriages are not legally binding outside Camp IHC property).
Kids then raced down to Hill Soccer to find a collection of blow up slides, rides, and obstacle courses. Campers slid down wacky water slides again and again!
At the ‘Wrecking Ball,’ campers had to push and swing a wrecking ball (made of foam) into each other while also keeping their balance. Last one standing on the platform wins!
Another cool attraction included the ‘Ninja Wall’ where campers each attempted to run up the wall and make it to the top. Camp IHC may be home to some future ‘American Ninja Warriors!’
Other activities at Hill Soccer included ‘Axe Throwing,’ an obstacle course, football target games, and a dunk tank!
