Sing 2023 has officially broken out… we think?
This year was the year of the fake-outs, as we had not one, but TWO Sing fake-outs. Our program team are really keeping us on our toes this summer!
It all started at the Fourth of July firework display, there was a buzz in the air after an all camp spirit flagpole, followed closely with a dance party while we awaited the infamous IHC Fourth of July firework display. All of a sudden smoke bombs were set off from The Lodge porch, and theme banners dropped, it was a SING breakout, as announcing this years Sing teams as, Nickelodeon, Comic books and Amusement parks. Sparking a huge commotion among our campers, and especially our CIT’s the energy was immense, until the rumblings of a Fake-out made its way through the crowd…
“Fake-out Fake-out we want a breakout…”
Sing became the topic of conversation for the next couple of days between the campers and counselors, as everyone speculated that the breakout would happen soon. It wasn’t until we were all together again at an all camp activity, Friday Night Campfire that we really started piecing it together. As our indoor campfire ended, and Taylor Swift failed to make an appearance, we concluded that there would be no breakout tonight and camp settled down to watch the showing of The Last Summer, a documentary made by Roscoe Media of the 2022 CIT’s.
The last thing we were expecting was for the documentary to open up with last year’s Sing breakout… Screams filled the Tennis Centre, as the 2023 CITs circled up, ready for the team announcements, Sing 2023 has officially broken out!!
Fake-out!!!
The video ended without announcing the teams, but instead annouced that we had been fooled again, with fake-out #2.
Two Fake-outs, what is going on??
When Saturday night rolled around, an All Camp KKB was on the cards for evening activity, all of our campers were split into different teams and made their way in team colors to The Sports Complex.
When we made it inside The Sports Complex it was clear we had been fooled once more, as the room was set up for a performance from Magic Erik!!
After an amazing performance, there was a rumbling at the back of the complex, as the garage doors started opening, in the distance we could hear music and see balloons and disco lights!
Its officially Sing breakout!!
So now that Sing has officially broken out, our teams; New York, Winter Wonderland and Animal Kingdom have started working on their acts and rehearsing with the rest of the campers on their team, ready for the Sing Showcase, and let me tell you its going to be a tough competition for our judges.
Make sure to keep an eye out for my next update, and welcome to Sing 2023!
