Good Morning!
Our staff have brought the energy for the most fun day of orientation, ‘Lets Play Camp’. Today our counselors act like campers, roaming around from activity to activity, getting a feel for what a real day at camp looks like, as well as giving the activity specialists an opportunity to perfect their skill.
This day is met with a tone of excitement from our staff, and we kick it all off with a morning flagpole, just like an average day at camp! We welcome in the morning with music, dancing and raising the American flag, pairing this with laughter and big smiles, it is the perfect start to a fun filled day at Camp IHC.
The daily schedule was sectioned out into activity periods, and each division attended a different activity area. This morning began with the Hill Campers jumping head first into boating, a camper favorite, while girls side headed to the gallery to debut their artistic talents. Tote bags were being made in the sewing room, bracelet making was buzzing in Arts and Crafts and the Ceramics Specialists were helping staff perfect their own piece of pottery.
Throughout the afternoon we ran tennis lessons and the newest counselor favorite, pickleball! Our counselors as shaping up for some extreme pickleball tournaments with their campers this summer, so get ready!
The afternoon continued like a typical camp day, with boys and girls side general swim, both the pool and the lake were open today so the slide and the rock wall were getting plenty of use.
Finishing the day with our favorite evening activity here at IHC, it was time for KKB! The orientation KKB is an event like no other, and with a wacky tacky dress code, we were definitely there to show up and show out.
