It’s Saturday and all across America thousands of young excited campers are heading to camp. Some of them will be experiencing camp for the first time… most are returning home.
Parents, take a breath. We’ve got this.
We are ready.
Over the past few weeks, IHC has been undertaking extensive orientation to get our very own new staff and returning staff prepped and ready for the next 7 weeks.
Over 350 staff have attended sessions by guest speakers, key notes from our very own Leadership team, training from department heads, ice-breakers and team building challenges. They’ve covered every summer camp topic in detail, they’ve done role playing scenarios, listened to the experts, had one to ones with all our Leadership team and they are prepared like never before.
We’ve worked hard, but we play hard too.
There were parties in our brand new pool, socials in the canteen, movie trips to the cinema, mini-olympics, survivor, water wars, full staff yoga and much more.
The feeling from the Leadership is one of full confidence that this is strongest staff we’ve ever seen across the board.
When we asked the staff why they came to IHC we were blown away by the responses, everyone spoke so passionately about wanting to grow, about wanting to work with children, about wanting to help others no matter what. They reminded us every day why we’re in the camp business.
These young adults are the role models to your campers for the next 7 weeks. They are their cool older sibling, their friend and their path to greater childhood development.
As the buses roll in from around the country there will be excited campers but please know that our staff are equally as excited. Some of them were hired by IHC last September so you can imagine the butterflies they are feeling right now.
It’s real, it’s happening and it’s today.
Orientation is over and the summer of a lifetime starts NOW!
