Living 10 months for two is finally over!!

Since last August, both staff and campers have been counting down to this amazing day. It’s one of the most exciting days of year and today was finally the day.

Arrival day.

There was no better day for it! The staff woke up to bright sunshine which proved that today wasn’t going to be just a good day, it was going to be a great day!

Hundreds of wonderful campers from all over the states travelled by buses and planes to Camp IHC to start their summer adventure. Whether coming for their first summer or their 9th summer it didn’t matter. What mattered was they came back to their home from home.

Staff waited eagerly by the Tennis Center for the buses to start rolling in, ready to meet the campers they’ve heard so much about. With everybody standing around the tennis courts, proudly showing off their bunk signs, the excitement rose. On the other side, buses full of eager campers drove down the Equinunk highway.

As the buses got closer to Camp IHC, the walkies scuffled, messages were spread and the result of this was even louder chants from counselors. We knew it was time.

As soon as the buses rolled in, the familiar faces and location slowly appeared to campers which filled the air with the a sense of homeliness. Staff and campers both screamed as they realized they had finally arrived at their happy place.

There were hugs, high fives, screams, running jumps and fist bumps as campers rushed past each other to find their summer best friends and bunks.

And for the staff, the summer they’ve been waiting and preparing for has begun.

The campers quickly settled in with camp games, snacks, free-play and an evening camp fire.

If you listen very closely, you might hear them sing at camp fire…

We’ve started.

Our bunk lines are alive once again.

It’s Summer 2019… Bring it on!
