Welcome back to The IHC Insider, where we will be giving a run down of what’s happening at camp throughout the summer, so all you readers can imagine you’re here with us!
Week 2 is officially over, and what a whirlwind week it was, full of fun, laughs and finally some sunshine! It was a busy week for our campers and counselors, so lets catch you all up…
On Sunday evening our Hill and Village Campers took part in the first annual Blake Buchbinder Cup. Split up into different colored teams, everyone met at the sports complex to begin the games. Each camper began the cup with writing a commitment to themselves, or to Blake for the summer, a private promise that they then threw into the campfire. The knockout soccer tournament then began, resulting in a Yellow and Green team final. After the games came the celebrations which each team had to create together and perform, in order to gain points. The game finished with a Yellow Dortmund team win!! What an amazing night, and thoughtful tribute to Blake!

On Lake Camp this week the campers got to spend Monday morning playing Campopoly!
A traditional special event at IHC, Campopoly allows the kids, in teams made up of their bunk, to go on a scavenger hunt around camp, completing different tasks in order to collect Campopoly cash. The team with the most campopoly cash at the end of the day, wins!
The fun continued for the Hill Camp and Village campers on Monday night, when they got the ultimate surprise evening activity! Upon arrival to the Arena, the kids were met with glow sticks and a headset, as it was time for a silent disco!!
This kids and staff had such a fun time, being able to dance around and scream their favorite songs together was a blast!! Definitely an evening activity for the books.
We also celebrated 4th of July this week, IHC Style of course, with all our favorite traditions and patriotic themed activities!

After 10 days of fun as one community at camp, it was finally time to say goodbye to our IHC Wester’s as they set off for the trip of a lifetime.

College Days was another event that took place this week for our lake campers. Split into different teams, our lake campers competed in numerous football events throughout the day, and with the help of their counselors, it felt just like a real college football game!
Here is how it all played out:
Week 2 was a week full of excitement and special events, the campers and counselors had so much fun and we can’t wait to see what week 3 has in store! But for now, thats a wrap on week 2 at IHC.🥳
