And just like that week 5 has come and gone, and what a busy week it was at IHC, so lets get into it!

Beginning on Monday, we had a very fun event planned in the morning. Think Color Chase, mixed with Gold Rush and Bingo, add a sprinkle of Disney and you have our Monday morning Lake Camp event, Disney Chase!

Teamed up with their bunks and counselors, our campers were given a bingo sheet, with the names of some of our staff members, the aim of the game is to run around camp on the search of our staff members, who were conveniently disguised as Disney characters. Once found, each character would cross of their name on the bingo card presented to them, the first bunk to complete them all would have to run down the bunk line back to Flagpole, screaming BINGO!!

What a fun way to spend a Monday morning!

We also had an exciting visitor this week, as Nancy Tucker came to IHC!

A Nancy Tucker concert is an IHC favorite, especially for our Hill Campers, who love singing and dancing along with Nancy, they really bring the vibes to the concert!

Nancy Tucker sang some of her classics, and everyone had such a great time!

We can’t wait to see you again next year!

Following up from Nancy Tucker, we also had our Color Bubble Run. This is such a classic camp activity and it was so enjoyed by everyone.

This year the color run began at Hill soccer, where our campers ran down into PA, getting splashed will all sorts of color bombs as they ran. The run finished at the bubble covered beach, where they could play around in the bubbles and into the beach front!

This was such an exciting and high spirited event, and the perfect way to end a Wednesday full of fun!

We also had a tie dye clinic for some of our Lake campers, who finally got to tie dye some of their clothes. They have been looking forward to this all summer, as they couldn’t wait to revamp some of their old clothes, and give them a new look.

They can’t wait for their clothes to get back and rock them around camp!

Our Rookie and Explorer division skit showcases took place this week, where each bunk came up with their own skit to perform for each other. Girls side used the theme of My Future Self, where they joked about future careers what they want to be when they grow up, as well as wanting to have sleepovers everyday!

The boys used the theme of their favorite bunk memory, creating skits based on memories they share from camp, with the inclusion of their favorite staff members of course.

Both sets of skits were such hilarious watches, and we are so proud of the campers having the courage to stand up in front of their divisions and poke fun at each other.

Our Varsity campers went on their Boston trip this week! Leaving on Monday morning, they made their way up to Boston by coach, taking in all the sights as they drove. Once in Boston the got to experience a range of different activities, from a night at Dave and Busters, a baseball game and a walk around the Harvard campus to a trip to Six Flags and a night cruise. The Varsity campers had such a great time together, and they loved every moment of the trip.

When the Varsity campers made their way back to camp, it wasn’t long from them being off the buses until they heard the banging of drums coming from Third Hill. All of our Hill campers knew exactly what the sound of the drums meant, and didn’t waste a moment sprinting up to Third Hill, where they were greeted by the very enthusiastic OPT staff, banging on drums and screaming, It was Survivor breakout! The only light available was that of the lanterns, placed down the path of Third Hill that led into the campfire. The Hill Campers, with their staff and the OPT staff chanted around the campfire as they waited to hear their team names! The energy was incredible and everyone was so excited for the Survivor breakout, and the days to come.

If you would like to read my daily breakdowns of the Survivor events, you can do so here:

And Finally to finish off an amazing week at camp, we had our Dance Showcase!

We have some incredibly talented dancers here at IHC, many of who have won big at inter-camp competitions, and therefore it was only appropriate that they got to come home and share their talents with us!

We were all so proud, watching in amazement at the beautiful dancers!

Well done girls!!!

See you next week!
