It’s never too early to begin exploring the world…

This past week, the entire senior division went on their biggest off camp trip to date, Vermont! Each of the four days was filled with a new adventure and a new experience, it’s amazing how many memories were made in such a short period of time! Everyone had been waiting all summer for this trip so when it finally came the seniors were practically buzzing with excitement.

Even the bus rides were fun, filled with movies, singing songs and just chatting with friends, there was never a dull moment.

On Monday, our first stop on our journey to Burlington was Bromley Mountain for an afternoon at the mountain. With an alpine slide, trampolines, and some carnival games, the seniors spent the afternoon soaking up the sun and fresh air. Everyone took the ski lift up the mountain to the top to ride the alpine sleds down the slides, taking in the amazing views of the beautiful mountainous Vermont. After reaching the base of the mountain, everyone took full advantage of everything else that was there. Some got ice cream, some relaxed and hung out, while others headed to the trampolines to flip out. For dinner we headed to Mister Ups and ate a lovely all you can eat dinner on their patio in the golden light of a setting sun.

The next day, after an amazing nights sleep, the seniors piled back into the bus and headed off to the Ben and Jerrys factory! Nestled in the mountains of Waterbury Vermont, the seemingly small factory made a big impact on our trip! The first step into the factory is met with the smell of fresh waffle cones, sweet and savory! The seniors were able to shop around in the gift shop and
buy any Ben and Jerrys sweet treats before heading onto the tour of the factory itself. Getting to see the actual process of how Ben and Jerrys is made was a cool tidbit of information that fascinated the campers. After eating enough ice cream to fill the factory, the senior division headed off to Ice Skating before dinner! Taking some time to relax after two days full of fun
activities was a cooling break for the campers and staff. Skating around in the St. Michaels College ice rink brought smiles to everyone there, and sometimes we had to hold on to the edge we were laughing so hard!

The next morning, we left Vermont and headed to our next destination, Lake George New York! We spent the afternoon exploring the downtown area, exploring the Lakeside shops filled with colorful clothing. After grabbing food and stretching our legs, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the dinner boat cruise we had planned for that night. With everyone dressed nicely and ready to go, we walked down to the docks, taking in the beautiful blue hour sky that had begun to peak through the clouds. As the sun set behind the clouds and turned from cool blues to warm yellows, we continued to dance to blaring music and take in the beautiful Lake George scenery.

On our last day, the senior division went to Six Flags Great Escape! We spent the whole afternoon on rides, playing games, going to the waterpark and screaming our hearts out with joy. A crowd favorite ride was the Comet, a massive wooden roller coaster with massive drops and wild turns, and the Flashback, a newer coaster with massive loops that goes forwards and
backwards. The arcade games that everyone played left them with arms full of stuffed animals, blow up aliens, and prizes of all kinds. As we piled back onto the bus to head home to camp, the exhaust from the fun filled past four days took hold and made the trip back fly by like the blink of an eye. Coming back to camp was the bow on top of the present that was the trip to Vermont.

Every kid had an amazing time and the memories that were made during this trip will last a lifetime!
