“You can leave camp, but camp never leaves you”

It’s been exactly 3 months since the IHC campers and staff boarded their buses and rolled out of the gates of camp, saying goodbye to the summer for another year. The words ‘one camp, one community, one family’ fresh on their mind.

Fast forward to November 13th and we’ve seen a lot going on in these last 3 months, not all of it good. Some things have been hard to watch, some things have been even harder to understand.

Camp T-Shirt Day brings back some positivity and stands as a reminder that camp is not just a 7 week summer experience. The roots of camp go much deeper and we are in fact a community and a family that supports one another for 12 months of the year. That sense of togetherness is important.

When we get sent photos of campers, families, staff, alumni, friends (and yes… even pets!) wearing Camp IHC t-shirts, we’re overwhelmed with the spirit and love that people have for our camp. It amazes us every year at where these messages come from as well! From across America and around the world, from New York to New Zealand, from Pennsylvania to Poland, from South America to South East Asia, it is clear we have an incredible community of people spreading the positive messages of camp and sharing their summer stories.

November 13th also happens to be World Kindness Day this year. So as well as a big thank you from all the Leadership team at IHC for getting involved with Camp T-shirt Day, we want you to remember to be kind to yourself and to others.

Thank for you sharing your photos and we can’t wait to see you at the next IHC reunion!
