Our Next Chapter
After many, many, sleepless nights, we’re ready for our next chapter. CampusCrate is officially re-launching.
We’ve pivoted more times than I count, but that’s all part of the process. I think what we’re getting ready to put out is the best iteration yet. Today marks the announcement of everything new coming to our platform, so let’s get going, we have a lot to share (including some dumb backend stuff that most won’t care about).
Switching Payment Processors
We’re moving over from Square Payments to Stripe. This allows us to continue to grow while building upon our seamless user experience. We look forward to working with Stripe and their endless customization.
Completely Redesigned Website
Our original website didn’t offer much in the way of function. Thanks to feedback from all of our customers, we’ve decided to start fresh. We scrapped the entire thing, and built something better than ever. A complete facelift. And, it all launches today.
Checkout Process, Reimagined
This is our most exciting announcment. Before, you were redirected from our website to a clunky checkout process that was confusing and hard to use. All of our great products weren’t always easily accessible. This time around, we decided to go in house to build an amazing checkout flow that’s all hosted on our website. Our process takes you step by step to make sure you have the exact package you want, all as seamless as ever. In addition, we now have a brand new SSL certificate for even more security while checking out. Here are some screenshots of what to expect. This is also live starting today.
Parent Rewards
Alongside the launch of our new site, we’re introducing a program built specifically for parents. Now, when you place an order, parents can get rewarded in return. More details on this program will be announced in the coming weeks as we continue to refine it.
Tip Cards
Adjusting to college can be super tough. Whether it’s keeping up on your academics, adjusting to living on your own, or making friends, every single student faces struggles. We’d love to make that a little easier with the introduction of Tip Cards. They are postcard size information cards on various different college topics that help students adjust. These will be small little additions you can add to your care packages. They will be launched alongside our new website.
Shared Carts
Now, students can go online, build a package for themselves and send it to their parents to order. This makes the process seamless for both students and parents. This will be launched a few weeks after our new website.
24/7 Live Chat Support / Elimination of Phone Support
CampusCrate strives on fantastic customer support, and we’re planning to improve upon that with our re-launch. We tested it back on our old website to some great response. And yes, there were some people ordering care packages at 3 AM. We hope this will help with any questions that might come up during your order.
Phone support at CampusCrate will be discontinued after the launch of the new website. We will strictly be providing support and assistance through our online chat or contact form.
More Products, More Partnerships
While we can’t yet announce our new partnerships, we’ve got some fantastic ones in the works to bring you some amazing new products and offerings. We’re also listening to every piece of feedback you provide on our products. We have conducted more and more student interviews to really listen to what they need and want. We’ve taken all of this into account and will be bringing some fresh new products to our catalog on a regular basis. We can’t wait to share these with you.
New Content
Whether you’re a student or a parent, college is sometimes tricky to navigate. We decided to revamp our blog to bring you fresh new content catered specifically to you. We are also adding discussion boards to our new site so you can discuss all things college with fellow parents and students. Included in our plans are weekly Facebook Live chats to answer questions, go over the latest in the college world, do giveaways, and so much more. We can’t wait to share some of this new content with you.

When you order through CampusCrate, you’ll be created an account that will allow you to easily re-order, track your packages, and so much more. This will be coming within a few weeks as well.
