What is your definition of success?

How do you define success?

Well… I would say…
Success is not an achievement
It’s a state of being.

I see…

Yes, people don’t like to fail.
This fear of failure
may be one of the biggest obstacles
to achieving goals.

Yes, that’s a good point.

So, I am thinking…
Why are people so afraid?
Because they think that success
only happens when they achieve a goal.
That kind of thinking won’t get you far.
But this will…

Yes, tell me…

Success is celebrating
the process of achievement.

Right… I see…

You are always in the process,
on the journey, and walking along the road.
Once you reach a destination,
you go forth towards another.
You are never going to be satisfied.
And that’s OK.

Think about it.
If you set goals,
you will be spending most of your time
trying to get to your goal.
If you don’t enjoy the process
of achieving the goal,
then you probably won’t enjoy life much.
Or if you don’t get to your goals,
then you may never be happy.

So, what can we do to reduce the fear of failure?

Ask yourself this question…
What if I fail in achieving the goal?
So what if you fail?
Then try again.
What else are you going to do with your life?
Whatever your goal is,
if you don’t enjoy the process of its achievement,
then you probably won’t get to your goal
and it won’t be worth it, anyway.

Allow yourself to fail.
All of us do.
And allow yourself to enjoy the process.

I see. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

No problem.
