It’s a sunny blue sky day in Hanoi with the temperature of 38 degree Celsius and the team has already arrived at the office prior to 9 am. No one is late today which mean no penalty for late comer. Our piggy bank is going home empty belly today. That is normally our first topic to kick off the day, collecting late fee from our late colleague.

At 10 am is our routine morning meeting between the CPO, The Truong and the Product Team. Everyone quickly count the unfinished tasks from Pivotal Tracker and discuss how would it be finished quicker in the future. Also, today marks our first ever meeting between the old engineer team from China and the new from Hanoi. Everyone takes time to introduce and shares their experiences to one another. New bee backend engineer, Noi exchanges his work with CTO Surat, who is currently finishing his PHD degree at Harvard University, USA. The meeting ends on a high node with everyone understand all the tasks and has clear instructions on it. Before ending the session, the CPO promptly reviews over the meeting and gives out tips to the new engineer team to get the best out of the meeting next time.

Next, since it has been only 4 days at work, individuals performance is vital to the business. Starting with the only girl in the team, Hien, our Operations Analyst, is extremely happy and comfortable with her new job. She always stay active and finish tasks on a timely manner. She wishes to finish the “Staff Handbook” sooner as it has to be reviewed carefully: “it is going to be a big achievement for me” Hien said.

Le Tran, our Frontend Engineer, described as a self-learner, he enjoys searching monitors for engineers team. He has completed the task and soon getting fund from the company to acquire the equipments. On the other hand, he is struggling with the CoreB development on how to generate report for borrower application and assessment: “This task is quite challenging but it makes me feel excited to explore the project and find solutions. I hope I can finish this task by today.” Le share with me.

Xuat Dac — backend engineer lead — is settling down quite comfortably despite of his absence for the first two days. He has successfully finished setting up the community-app in CoreB management. With the support from his best colleague, Noi Nguyen — our second backend engineer, Xuat is confident to set up functions project and finer act server very soon.

As introduced above, Noi is able to put his hands on the first task today; but the lack of knowledge of the current database, he feels that he would need more support and effort for it.

Our business development team in Ho Chi Minh city seems to have a productive day. Kimble Ngo, our Head of Partnerships, has completed draft to new pitch decks for brands and distributors. He is revising our business development strategy, reviewing office space partnerships, and discussing with committee for VK

Alongside Kimble, Phuong Duong — our business consultant is working on buying tablet with Samsung at a discounted price for our direct partner, the MFI in Thanh Hoa. Plus, he is keened to finish writing the Introduction of Canal Circle for vendors today.

Everyone is exhausted by the end of the day so we end the day with a small team building session with foods. Food really bonds people!
