The 5 Most Important Words of the Debate

The night before last, there was a presidential debate:

If you wanted to hear about each candidate’s policy proposals, you probably knew not to watch. Gone are the days where candidates were expected to say what they would do if elected, and how they would pay for it.

But one thing Trump did, once again, is confirm just how unhinged he is from reality, how easy he is to manipulate, and how dangerous that is for society.

He did it all in just 5 words.

“The People on Television Say…”

The moment happened after Harris goaded Trump by attacking him in his childlike weak spot: His pride in the size of his rallies. They’re boring, she said. They’re weird, she claimed. And people leave them early. She said all of this after criticizing Trump for killing the immigration bill so that he could run a campaign on immigration being a problem.

The moderator tried to keep the discussion about immigration policy, but Trump was already fixated:

DAVID MUIR: Let me just ask, though, why did you try to kill that…
