So, you’ve decided to take the first step toward straighter teeth. That’s great news — we’re glad you found us! With all the information out there, it can be overwhelming to find the right treatment option for you, but we’re here to help.

Invisalign has been a major player in the market for decades. While Invisalign is a brand of aligners, Candid aims to go beyond just aligners by offering a full, branded experience. So how does the Candid experience stack up? These are the biggest differences between the two.

  1. Candid costs less than Invisalign in most cases.

On average, Invisalign treatment costs anywhere from $3,000-$8,000. This cost is determined by a number of factors, including length of treatment and the experience level of your treating orthodontist.

With Candid, your aligners cost $2,400 total, regardless of how long your treatment takes. You can pay that $2,400 in one upfront payment, or in monthly installments as low as $99/month. This includes premium whitening foam at no extra cost. Plus, retainers are just $99, so even retention is more affordable than it would be in-office – depending where you go, retainers can cost up to $500.

2. Candid offers whitening, too.

While Invisalign only straightens your teeth, Candid offers complimentary whitening. Each Candid aligner kit includes a premium whitening foam gentle enough to be used multiple times a day. Customers rave about their results.

3. Candid has studio locations that offer free consultations.

Because you’ll have to go to a dental office for an Invisalign consultation, it could cost you $100-$200 just to get started (even more if you require dental x-rays).

Instead, you can visit a Candid Studio to start the process for free. There’s no commitment to move forward with treatment during this appointment. During your visit, you’ll learn more about treatment and they’ll take a digital scan of your teeth. That scan and a set of 8 diagnostic photos we’ll take is all Candid’s orthodontists need to design a fully customized treatment plan.

4. Candid doesn’t require monthly office visits.

Invisalign typically requires appointments at least every six weeks. These visits can be time consuming and inconvenient. They often give you only 2–3 aligner trays at a time, so you’ll need to visit the office to continue moving forward with your treatment.

Candid’s free consultation is the one and only appointment you’ll need as you go through treatment. Your full set of aligners gets delivered right to your door, so there’s no need to pickup new aligner sets at your dentist’s office.

5. Candid only works with licensed orthodontists.

In some cases, Invisalign is prescribed by a general dentist instead of an orthodontist. Candid works exclusively with a team of licensed orthodontists who boast an average of 20 years experience with cases like yours.

Why does that matter? Because orthodontists have at least 2 years of specialized training in tooth movement beyond dental school. That amounts to thousands of additional hours of experience under their belts, so you can be sure your treatment is always in expert hands.

6. Candid treatment takes 6 months on average

Invisalign treatment takes 12 months on average, but exceeds that in more complex cases. This does allow Invisalign to take on more complicated cases, like bite correction and severe crowding, that Candid won’t currently take on.

Candid treatment will at most take 11 months. Because of the shorter treatment length, Candid’s primary focus is on mild to moderate cases. For the wellbeing of all of their customers, Candid does not take on any cases deemed too complex for their remote treatment model, and will refund anyone who is not eligible for treatment.
