The New State of the Industry

On June 1, 2020, Canopy Growth’s VP Government and Stakeholder Relations, David Culver spoke at a virtual panel discussion for Benzinga’s Capital Conference. The panel, titled Capitalizing on Cannabis: The New
State of the Industry and moderated by Jon Najarian, host of CNBC’s Halftime Report, discussed how COVID-19 has affected the industry, and how cannabis is poised to play an important role in helping the nation recover from the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.

The panel featured executives from across the industry including Saphira Galoob, CEO of The Liaison Group, Lt. Gov Julianna Stratton, State of Illinois, Trevor Fencott, CEO of Fire & Flower and Shawn Cedle, CEO of Pineapple Inc.

During the discussion, David highlighted how the cannabis industry has been deemed “essential” in various states during the pandemic, meaning we are in the unique position to not only provide employment to those who need it most but also contribute substantial tax revenue to the US economy.
