Remote working is something that has changed the game for many thousands of people in their own countries and now provides a range of dynamic opportunities around the world. It’s all about tailoring your role to work for you.

Here are three sites where it’s good to find quality remote working roles:

— we work remotely https://weworkremotely.com/

— remote.co https://remote.co

— Remotive https://remotive.io

The majority of these roles are different to freelance gigs like you might find on upwork or fiverr. These are full time roles, working with teams, in funded startups or scale ups or more stable growth businesses that are profitable and running their missions in a sustainable way.

There are some things to look out for such as must be in the US only roles, but in the main you can work from anywhere and do these roles. Getting full time, regular salary, and usually close to US or UK salary levels.

So how would that work in Portugal?

The cost of living index translates well. There may be a timezone challenge at times and a good 24/7 co-working space such as IDEIA would make a lot of sense to your way of working.

Portugal has the 15th fastest internet speed in the world, so that wont be a problem. You can work from beach cafes. From airbnb apartments. From the amazing wifi enabled road stops on the freeways between Lisbon, Porto, Faro. 3 months in Nazare for some waves followed by 6 months in Lisbon and then a summer in Faro? Why not :)
