In the company of two 2021 Cansbridge fellows, I moved to Vancouver for the month of August to foster new friendships, face to face, and commune with the astounding nature of the West Coast. To be with companions in one of the largest metropolitan cities in Canada surrounded by a culture that supports the arts, great food, and entertainment in concert with natural beauty has been an experience that has helped me grow in all aspects of my life. The human experience is inextricably tied to our natural environment. By learning to see our place in the natural world we can find balance, peace, and happiness in our busy lives.

The Mountains

Whistler Mountains

The most recognizable feature of British Columbia is the mountains. Whistler Mountain is the home of the world’s record-breaking gondolas that allow you to ascend the mountains to view the magnificent landscape and experience the impressiveness of the expanse. From this amazing perspective, many people report having a positive effect on their mental health and wellbeing.
