The Art of Letting Go: A Life-Changing Habit
Free Yourself from the Past and Embrace the Peace You Deserve
It is not all these problems around the world that fetter existence but rather an unwillingness to drop attachments to old grievances, bad relationships, and unfulfilled dreams.
They cling to us and create a down-dragging effect, leaving one moving further toward the end.
What if I told you to learn to let go?
I used to be somebody who clutched everything so tightly. If he hurt me, I’d replay in my mind his words constantly. If I failed in something, I would even define myself in those terms.
It felt more secure to carry everything with me than to let go since letting go would mean losing part of myself. But keeping everything did not do me any favors regarding my peace and happiness.
I will never forget the simple exercise that changed my life. I was told to write down everything that held me back from issues of regret, resentment, and fear. Initially, I wondered how writing about all that could even change anything.
But penning them into a list just started to make me feel lighter. Writing down my pain showed me the kind of space it occupied in my heart and mind.
