We’re announcing the winner of our 15 ETH prize for the February CanWork competition.

Cryptocurrency and the Freelance Economy

The competition required entrants to produce a content piece (or other creative idea) around the following premise:

Cryptocurrency and decentralised applications will revolutionise the freelance economy.

Creative Global Participation

We received 20 entries from freelancers around the world including Australia, Georgia, Nigeria, Hungary, USA, India and Indonesia.

The competition generated a range of creative responses from written stories & research, animation & short film, poster art and even online movements, petitions & billboards.

We are very proud of the high quality entries and scope of participation in the competition — although it made for hard judging.

The Winner

Without further ado, please congratulate:

Yanuar Abednego

A graphic designer from Jakarta for the 3D animation titled ‘Freelance Economy Revolution’

Freelance economy revolution — 3D animation by Yanuar Abednego

The CanYa team selected Yanuar’s animation from a very tight shortlist of high quality entries. The final decision came down to this entry really addressing the competition topic.

We thought Yanuar’s effectively explain how cryptocurrency and decentralised applications will revolutionise the freelance economy. The narrative is clear, succinct & supported by cogent symbolism. It introduces the topic, sets up the problem and closes on the revolution solution in an engaging & visually appealing 3D animation.

Congratulations Yanuar, you are the winner of 15 ETH!

Special Mentions

The following entrants require special mentions for their high quality entries and efforts. All will receive a limited edition minted CanYa coin.

Anthony Bayss

“Decentralised Freelance Movement”

Anthony’s highly original entry was based on the creation of a Decentralised Freelance movement including a custom website, Twitter, Change.org petition, Twibbon profile filter campaign, Redbubble merchandise, Reddit subreddit, YouTube explainer video & Tippen Lightning Network button — which generated a lot of exposure.

Jason / Chill Productions

“CanYa. Freelance Revolution” Short Film

Jason created a very well-received film about CanYa and the freelance economy revolution. He wrote the script, sourced & edited stock footage & music, created the logo and performed the voice over.
