Madina Sadigova 18-year-old student studies at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sport. She studies in the second class as a karate coach. She is a five-time national champion and is second 2019 European Championship.

Let us start from the beginning. Who is the Madina Sadigova?

MS: I was born in 2001 in Ganja. I was hyperactively chid in my childhood. Therefore my parents decided to encourage me to go for sports. So I had an interest in sports. My father was killed in Karabakh war. After it I decided to become an athlete.

Karate is already an Olympic sport. What are your goals in this area?

MS: There are European Championship ahead. It will be the first time I will compete among adults. After it, there will be Islamic Games. Firstly My goal is to win these games. And then I will think about the Olympic Games.

What was the most popular and memorable competition in your mind?

MS: I will never forget the 2018 Sochi European Games. It was a great injustice by the referees against me in this game. One second before the game ended my opponent hit me. Thus, the referees considered the game in favor of the opponent. Note that my opponent was the Russia karateist. The decision of the referees was considered unfair by the press of many countries.

What is your favorite sport beside karate and sports team or an athlete?

MS: The game that is interesting to me is wrestling. It was so interesting that sometimes I wanted to leave karate and become a wrestler (laughs). I watch the competitions wrestler Haji Aliyev with great interest.

What is your favorite food and drink?

MS: Although I know fast food is harmful for an athlete like me, but I like it. I eat too much fast food, actually, to the point where even I get fed up with it.
