Why do you think it is important for AAPI’s to be involved in public service?

Public service is the bedrock for improving society. Without it, the many problems of today and tomorrow cannot be tackled cannot be solved. Regardless of what you do in public service, you are a part of the herculean effort of making your community and country a better place.

Name one person you look up to and explain why.

A mentor. Whether it is my dad, my former boss(es) here on the Hill, and coworkers I have been fortunate to work with and under here on the Hill, mentors have been my advocates, teachers, and guides in this amazing opportunity that I have to work on the Hill.

Please share one piece of advice or a hope that you have for the future of Asian America.

However you may define success and wherever you “make it”, never forget those who have given you so much to where you are today. Never forget where you came from and what you went through to get where you are today. Always be giving back by being an advocate for others who are climbing up and be the role model by being the best of yourself to others.

Lastly, what is your favorite or go-to comfort food and why?

Pita chips but come dinner time I do miss some good South Indian food!
