Kubo and the Two Strings 🎬

Presented by

“Kubo and the Two Strings” is a stop-motion animation film from animation studio Laika. The sheer amount of physical effort required to produce this work of art is commendable. 👏

If you’re up for a fantastical action-packed movie about a boy, a monkey, and a beetle defeating evil spirits, you should definitely check this movie out!

Goro Fujita & VR Art 🎨

Presented by

Despite only recently learning about Goro Fujita, he’s slowly become one of my favourite artists over the past few months. He has a unique style which is easily recognisable and usually centred around joyous and positive themes.

The Idea of a monster wearing a top-hat is adorable 🎩

Goro Fujita has worked on some amazing animated films like Madagascar 3, Megamind, and Boss Baby.

He’s also known to be a pioneer in the Virtual Reality Art space. You’re probably wondering; What the frick is Virtual Reality Art? Is it just a bunch of randomly picked buzzwords strung together to form some cool artsy term? Well, those are all valid questions. Virtual Reality Art is basically drawing or painting in a 3D virtual environment using a virtual reality headset like the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive. There are certain tools that are available like Tilt Brush by Google and Quill.

Goro Fujita has been an early adopter of Virtual Reality art and has created some very memorable 3D artworks like “Worlds in Worlds”.

Making of Making by NIKE 👟

As Product Designers, we understand that even the smallest design decisions in a product can have an impact on the environment. This is where Making of Making comes in. Making of Making is an App designed by Nike that helps designers and creators make better, more informed, choices of the materials they use.

Here’s a super cool video on Nike’s “Making of Making” 👇
