Spot the fake news: Peak ICO edition
To commemorate hitting peak ICO, I thought it would be fun to play ‘spot the fake news’.
3 of the following ICO stories are real, and one is fake. Can you spot the fake news (answer at bottom)?
A) Estonia proposes issuing a token called “estcoins” via an ICO
B) Boxer Floyd Mayweather publicly backs ICO for Stox.com, declares: “I’m gonna make a $hit t$n of money”.
C) Burger King in Russia has announced its own tokenised currency, the ‘Whoppercoin’
D) Blackrock launches a new real estate fund via an ICO

Will the traditional finance industry adopt tokenisation? Only time will tell. Until then, we’ll have to make do with Mayweather’s ‘$hit t$n of money’ and Whoppercoin.
