With the 3DShot app, you can easily create and share interactive 3D demonstrations (3D Views) and record 3D product reviews. In Part I of this series, we’ll take a look at the ways people are using 3D demonstrations, and Part II (coming soon!) will be dedicated to 3D reviews.

David’s story

David decided to move abroad to follow a career opportunity. Next to the excitement of starting afresh, there is also a fair amount of thought and planning to accomplish. The first task on his to-do list is selling his car. Saying goodbye is difficult but necessary and David is ready to take action. Before placing an ad on a car marketplace, he needs to take photos of the car that will provide a 360 degree perspective. Instead of taking multiple still images, David wants to go with the 3D content option: it’s faster to create and converts way better than any 2D alternative.

He launches the 3DShot app on his iPhone, circles the car…

… and has the app automatically create a 3D image.

The result looks great and is ready to be displayed on a marketplace. David can also send a link to the 3D View to any potential customers, or use it as a video file for platforms that don’t have embedded integration.

Potential buyers can now examine the car in detail: zoom-in to see its condition, rotate the image for a 360 degree perspective, appreciate the way the car looks in any given environment.

Since 3D content provides higher engagement and interactivity, addresses potential pain points and increases purchase confidence, David doesn’t have to wait long to sell the car.

And now that it’s done, David needs to sell his house…

Good thing that the 3DShot app can digitize a house in 3D as well!

In fact, the app can digitize almost anything:

His wife’s bag (though he’s not selling it, for obvious reasons).

A motorcycle (David wishes he had one).

The official release of the 3DShot app is scheduled for November 2020. Right now, you can visit the website of the app and take part in the beta testing.

Creating a 3D View is not the only thing you can do with the 3DShot app. 3D product reviews are perfectly suitable for social commerce and are therefore also fair game. Read about 3D reviews in Part 2 of this series. Coming soon!
