Shooting hanging objects may seem more difficult than it really is. Here at Cappasity, we have prepared a set of foolproof instructions that will help you to shoot a hanging object in 3D with perfect results. Let’s dive right in.
Firstly, make sure that you have regular studio equipment: a 4K digital camera, a backdrop, and four 200W studio lights.
Set up a turning head with a holder.
To assemble the mechanism in the screenshot, you will need some easy-to-find elements: a time-lapse camera mount, a din rail, a 1/4 inch photo screw to connect them, and some metal paper clips to fix the hanging object in place.
Make sure that the holder is perfectly horizontal.
Use a spirit level gauge to make sure the balance is perfect.
Now, adjust the binder clips to the object size and place the object (in this video we are using a necklace) on the holder.
Set up the camera.
Switch on the turning head. Recommended speed — 30 seconds per turn.
Shoot the rotation of the product.
And finally, create a 3D View using Easy 3D Scan.
Embed the result into your online store, mobile app, and AR app to give your customers a fully immersive shopping experience.
